Close-ups of Evie

Here are some close-ups of Evie, all 7 lbs, 15 oz. and 20 inches of her! Her head is in pretty good shape despite Marc saying she came out looking like the alien from "Aliens" (appropriate since that is one of my favorite films). She has the cutest little expressions on her face while she is sleeping that it is hard to look away although we know this is the time we should get our rest (they weren't exaggerating when they tell you say good-bye to sleep)!

Baby Evie has arrived!

I arrived ready to go at 4pm on Wednesday when my water broke an hour earlier (at work, egad!) I gave everyone a last hug before dashing to the hospital with Jen (alas, no special pheromones sent her into labor). The doctor sent me directly to labor & delivery where we settled in for the long haul.

As for the labor, I will skip the details (eh, not too bad) and go right into the end result: Evelyn "Evie" Ruth McDonald!

Here's Ba (Katrina's Mom - Vietnamese for Grandma) with Evie just an hour after birth.

Almost there! Baby McDonald and Mommy are doing fine, although the doctor says that it doesn't really look like we're close to poppin' anytime soon. Induction is scheduled for September 2 - but we are ready for our little girl whenever she's ready to come out!
