Little Miss Evie celebrated her second birthday at quite the soiree on Saturday! She had many visitors as far as Philadelphia and New Jersey come down to party. Here is Evie in her party dress greeting people at the beautiful door decorated by her godmother Aunt Mellie. The theme of the party was art as Evie (or her mommy) fancies her as quite the artiste! The kids got to play with clay, finger-painted, and even did some spin art before the spin art machine broke. It was tons of fun!
Whee! Evie is so happy she's jumping over Ba's shoulders!
She also loves running away from Mommy and Daddy, but we are pretty good at catching up with her.
Lucky Evie is surrounding by her loving grandparents Bebe, Ba and Popi, as she finishes her grape lollipop. She had a whole morning with Bebe and Popi and explored Old Town, showing off her favorite places.
Evie blows out the candle of her red crayola crayon cake, made partly by Baskin Robbins and partly by Daddy and Mommy. The kids loved digging into the ice cream cake - I think this is the beginning of a birthday tradition.
The family is all smiles as Evie finishes up her pretzel chip before digging into her cake.
Cousin Molly and Evie sure love their balloons! The two look a little tuckered out at the end of the party.
Evie's godmother Mel and came down with her whole family including Brian and baby Amelia, who will be turning 1 herself in a couple of weeks. Amelia loved hanging out with the big kids and was walking around like a pro.

Happy Birthday Andrew!
This Saturday, Evie celebrated her good friend Andrew's second birthday with the gang - it was quite a celebration! Andrew's favorite toy is Thomas the Train so there was a lot to choo choo choose from in terms of fun things to do: play with the water tables, jump in the moon bounce, and hide in the playhouse. Evie, in her swim suit, started the party right with her Thomas, Percy, and James birthday hat. Unlike last year, the kids actually liked wearing their party hats this year!
Andrew with his mom, Jen, and dad, Tom. We're gonna miss you guys when you move to San Diego (sniff)!
Evie made sure to get the best seat in the house... right next to the cake... for easy access to the icing!
Later during the party, it was round #2 for the cake. Evie, with friend Ava, started destructing the actual train by trying the gumdrops. However, the gumdrops are a little more challenging to chew than cake, as the kids discovered.

Evie catches a wave!
Evie, Ba and Mommy went to Great Waves water park on Friday afternoon after Mom was finished with work. We think Evie will be a great adventurer because she isn't scared of anything (and has the skinned knees to prove it)!
Our first stop was the giant wave pool. Evie loved running into the waves and went in up to her chin! She also had a fun time with Mommy on the water tube - she didn't even mind getting splashed. Later, Evie tried to grab her own innertube and then loved standing in the middle where the tube kept her protected from the waves.
Whee! Evie's first waterslide! Down she goes with her eyes wide open and smiling in delight!
Once the big slide was conquered, it was time to take on the curvy slide. Evie wanted to go by herself but Mommy insisted on going together. Even Ba could handle this water slide and gave it a whirl as well!
Evie enjoys the volcano eruption at the kiddie pool. Thar she blows!
Our brave little girl even liked splashing under the waterfalls.

A weekend in Spring Lake
From Wolf Trap with Love
On August 5, the family and Ba and Opa braved a summer thunderstorm to see the National Symphony Orchestra perform a night of James Bond theme songs at Wolf Trap. By the time we arrived, most of the rain had gone away and we sat on the Lawn enjoying a picnic of cheese, carrots, and sandwiches. As the clouds disappeared, the stars came out and we all laid back and relaxed to the sounds of music.

Happy 1st Birthday Ethan!
